It's been a month and a half since I added that extra ground wire. The Jeep wasn't starting about every other day. I haven't had a single problem since.

Mine's been getting worse, same issue, I was fixing to replace the starter, since the battery appeared good and my extra 100A battery charger booster didn't help. I moved the shift forwards and it started.

If it keeps up, I will add the ground wire. Still seems bizarre how a wire to the alternator could fix the starter?

Really seems like a park switch, otherwise why would pushing the shifter forwards fix the issue?

Thanks for posting this good stuff!

My 08' has been doing the click no start for about four months, with the engine off I put it into gear (any gear) roll the vehicle slightly go back into park and it starts right up. It seems that some kind of sensor wasn't engaging and the movement in the transmission gets it to the right spot.
