Default rear wiper delete

anyone done this on their hard top? I'm so used to the soft top i had on my '07 that i never think to use the wiper. plus it would get rid of the nice void in the rear window so the wife will stop backing into stuff.

Default I did mine

I didn't want to buy the wiper kit. Just took it loose and went to Lowes and put a plastic cap with a thin bead of caulk (clear).

lets put it this way...the very first mod i did on our JKU was take out the rear headrests and brackets. she still complains about the view out the back. next i flipped the mirror...still a comment about the back window. next will be the rear wiper assembly. after that i'm mounting a rear view camera with a 42" TV in the dash for her to see.

she had problems backing up our TSX with a back up camera so i'm probably screwed regardless. but it gives me an excuse to take something apart.

turns out its a moot point anyways...

didn't bother to check the actual glass and didn't notice it was black at that portion. oh well. now its cleaner back there.

what did you guys do with the harness and washer fluid line? i don't mind cutting the washer line but maybe not the harness.

good idea. I bought a hardtop later and have been too cheap to buy the kit to make the wiper work. I think mine will come off as well.

I stuffed it up into the hardtop. Ended up putting the wiper back on because I found a new cb antenna mount.

One would think that you could get a replacement rear window without the painted portions. Check different distributers, you may find one. Removing the rear wiper sounds like a great idea.
