Default repairing bumper finish

Just wondering what others have done to repair the battle damage, scratches and dings on their bumpers.

I recently bought a stock replacement bumper from another forum member and it's pretty banged up, which I did know before hand.
I figured I wouldn't care so much but when I was about to mount it I decided not to because of the condition.

My first thought is to line-x it, but not sure if that would look right or match well. Any thoughts or ideas would be great. Or if you have done a repair show some pics.

Here is some of what I am talking about.

...Oh and yes, I know chicks dig scars It's my OCD and I can't let it be.

Use Sawzall to hack off ends just past crush cans, cut patch to cover end, "weld" with soldering iron, coat with bedliner.

Default Scars? Minor Scratches

Man, that bumper looks to be in pretty good condition.
Buy a steel bumper, then you can touch up with a can of spraypaint.

You are gonna get a rash of crap calling those scars. Put some 303 Protectant on it and most of them will fade. Then, stop buying stock bumpers and save for a real one.

step 1: remove the POS OEM plastic bumper.
step 2: Replace with something STEEL.
step 3: Sit back and admire your work.

you guys are too funny. No, it is in no way a urban crawler . Actually I really don't mind it being banged up so much, Just would have rather it been me that cause the damage . And yes, I know I should have just bought a steel bumper, but I don't have $300+ right now to drop on that and I really needed the tow hooks and lights. And didn't hurt my wallet.

This really isn't that big of a deal, and I would hang it either way. The reason I didn't was really to see what I could do to repair it before it went on. Like if I was to line-x it...why put it on to pull it off.

Thanks for the idea for those who posted, I will look into some.
