Default Check engine light still on

I know this thread is old, but seems like the best place.

Mine was throwing a P0128 code. I changed the thermostat and housing. Drove it. Still throwing the same code. I did the 3 gas pedal trick. Check engine light still on, but when I check the code I just get - - - done--- Wonder if the sensor is bad (temperature). Or if the light will clear after a few more trips?

Weird.

i have the same issue. I think this is a common issue and it is insanely annoying. I have to get my admissions test in the next few months and a check engine light will trigger an immediate fail.

On our JKs, if if you change the thermostat, it's often just a good idea to change the coolant sensor at the same time. They are common to fail and its often tricky to determine if the code is due to thermostat or the sensor. They don't cost much so best to just change them both.

I hope you score well and are accepted based on your "admissions" test results

How did you get rid of the P0128 code after replacing the thermostat housing. I replaced my thermostat housing and did a coolant flush and my check engine light is still on.
