Question rubicon springs/shocks on X

This may be a stupid question but I'm a newb

I'm looking at a set of rubicon spings and shocks on craigslist to put on my X - I guess I have 2 questions:

1.) is it just as easy as swapping them out? do I need to do anything special?
2.) is it worth it? are the rubi parts much better?

Thanks in advance!

Swap out is easy and from what I understand if you get them on the cheap it is worth it. The X shocks are crap and the Rubi (I think) are Bilsteins. Also word is you should get about a inch of lift with the Rubi springs.

I swapped out my X shocks and springs for a set of barely used Rubi shocks and springs from a 4-door that I found on Craigslist and I would recommend it if you find a good deal on a set. I got about 1-1.5" of lift from it and then later added a Teraflex 2.5" Budget Boost.

The ride is definitely stiffer, but overall, I'm happy with the swap.

Thanks Guys for your input... what do you think a fair price would be?

I'm assuming they are only slightly used - haven't looked at them yet.

I think it depends on the area, but I see you're here in Denver too. I might be totally off on this, but my guess is $100 or less? I don't know if this is unrealistic or not, but I think I paid a little less than $100 last year.

I have a link in my sig with pictures on this, there are a few treads to check out, dont pay more than 125 shipped on a set with over 5,000 miles.

The shocks are definitely worth the swap. Before you swap springs, make sure the last 2 digits on the tag are a higher number than the last 2 digits on yours. Just because it's a Rubicon doesn't necessarily mean that the springs are stiffer. For example an X with the tow package might have the same or stiffer springs.

you guys have been super helpful I really appreciate it.

I do have a tow package so I'll check on the springs... I'm assuming that the higher the last 2 digits the better?

Default rubi shocks and springs

Yes exactly mine had 14's up front and i installed 17 and 18 springs and changed from 56's to 59's in rear i got a lil over an inch lift. The ride also get a bit stiffer which leads to better handling but also slightly rougher.

I am about to do the exact same thing. Have you had any Drive Shaft issues?
