I would tell them that painting 7 of 8 is unacceptable, and you expect all or none to be done realizing that refusing to do so would result in legal action for not correcting a known issue. They don't want to try to explain to a judge how they only needed to paint 7 of 8 because of some unmeasurable thing such as opinion (there aren't any actual tests they have done if all they did was take pictures). Granted they may still refuse and for that I would just take it to another and another until they do it. Eventually they will get the idea that it is costing them to repeatedly 'review' it is wasting money.

My hinges are having the same issues as most others are. They are starting to bubble from the inside out. No dings. No chips. No damage to the paint. Just bubbles starting to form.

My question; if this is occurring from the different metals used, what the hell good does simply repainting them do? Why will they not rust again?

I understand the doors are not painted under the hinges. Is this the main issue? If the doors are painted under the hinges will the hinges no longer rust?

They paint the hinges while on the door , then the clear cracks from the stress opening and closing the door. Plus different metals sandwiched together with no paint underneath. You would think it would be cheaper too fix the problem in the factory, not after the fact. I took mine off and had them bed linered. They turned out awesome!! Been over a year and still looking great..

My jk was finally done. It took the shop week to do. Or should I say the service writer told me to bring it in and not scheduled it in with the body shop. So on day six they started and I was called the next day to pick it up. The quality of the job was terrible. The seals to that they used is oozing between the hinge and the door. Bare metal is exposed in various locations as the new hinges do not Line up with where the old one were. The torx bolts are missing paint around the edges. One door has numerous scratches from them working on the door. Called the dealer four times to get an update when it was in and no one was around to answer my questions and did not return my calls. And the would only do 7of the 8 hinges and billed me $178 to do one hinge. All the shop would say that's all the could do and to bring it back in a month to buff out the scratches. I have called Chrysler Canada and started a claim.

yikes. Sorry man I would be livid. Start that case with Chrysler and don't back down till it's right. These dealers are hacks.

Just went to pick up my 2012 jk after having all door hinges repainted. Chrysler offered a rental during the repairs after Making a few calls to the 1-800#. 100% covered. Took two years for mine to rust, wife also has a 2012 that rusted in 9 months. Glad they fix them for free.
