Default Should I be worried?

Changed my oil last night and discovered this leak in the front axle. I only have 7,000 miles. The fluid has never been changed so it's not like this is residue from that. There are no drips on my garage floor so it appears that it is seeping out slowly. I have a 3 inch budget boost and 35s.

Is this "normal"? Should I be worried about it? I will take it to the dealer and I guess we might have a conversation about whether my modifications affected this, but my immediate concern is whether this leak is bad news. Please help!!!!!!!

Not normal. Pull the cover, throw some synthetic in there and reseal with a lube locker. It will never leak again.

With only 7k miles I would think the dealership would have a hard time trying to prove your mods did that. Hell its hardly even broken in yet. But I'm no mechanic.

The picture isn't a wide enough angle to see the whole leak.

Anyway, before you disassembl anything, clean it off with some brake clean, and see where it starts from. Go from there.

On a scale from 1-10 how difficult is pulling the cover, changing the fluid and sealing it again (assuming an oil change is a 4 for me)? I guess it's time to buy a shop manual.

This is the only other pic I have. Although it looks like something (a gasket?) is coming out at about 3:00, the top of the cover also has fluid on it.

Fliud on top usually means something above it is leaking, possibly the breather tube has spit some oil out.

Clean it up and see what happens.

Yes, a shop manual is a good idea.

No big deal. Mine leaked a bit. Warranty will cover it but go with the Lube Locker Gaskets.

This "leak" of mine isn't a leak at all. The radiator overflow spout is right over the axle...clearly the source. I'm surprised a lot more of you don't experience this issue. Then again maybe you have and are just smart enough to realize what it is. Anyway, thanks for all your help!!!!
