Default are soft top cooler than hard tops

with the top up are the soft tops cooler inside than the hard tops? im finding my hard top becomes like a little oven with the heat we are starting to get. i know there are hot headliners but if the soft top runs cooler i think id rather save and buy that

thanks

I'd disagree. I find the soft top kind of like a greenhouse. It doesn't get too warm here so it isn't a problem. Tough to say really. I drive both because we have two jeeps.

I have to say a soft top would probably stay cooler, plus if your out and it gets really hot you can just fold the top up and be good to go, the hardtop can only go down at home

I'm debating if I should sell my hard top or not. I plan on getting a roof rack eventually and POSSIBLY a roof tent. Taking that all off to swap to the hard top (because winter sucks in Wisconsin) can be a PITA every year.

I'm starting to think that I need to suck it up, stop being such a wussy, and take the pain in the winter. Then again, I feel as though it gets colder with the soft top. However, just think when you have 30mph cold wind gusts in the middle of a blizzard that soft top only seals up so well before it becomes just a protection from the snow piling up IN your jeep.

But, when it comes down to it. We will be the only ones NOT stuck on the roads

Either way they don't offer that much protection/insulation from the winter so...wear a hat...

I was really worried about my soft top living in MN and regularly going way north on Canadian border and I do not feel there was an issue of it being too cold or fogging or anything. Cant compare to Hard top but the softy has been a pleasant surprise for me.

From my experience trying both during Houston summers, they both get really hot sitting in the sun, but the soft top cools down a lot quicker once you get moving and lets the AC catch up better.
