Woke up this morning to find a pool inside my 4door jk unlimited. I could understand this much water if I left the top off, I mean everything was wet Front seat carpet and seats, rear carpet and seats. I even had water seeping thru the roof material in four spots. Had to hit the roof several times to shake the water off. Funny the only spot that did not leak was the rear window which is where I expected it. Water was definitely rinning down the pillers as well. Not sure where the water was getting in the front.

Anyway called the selling dealer and the service manager told me to bring it right in and he would get it inside for the night and start on it first thing tomorrow.

When I got there we walked outside and he was shocked at what he saw. Immediately drove it inside and without hestitation admitted there was a problem.
Claims they have only replaced one top in the past and that leak was nothing compared to mine.

This is the first rain we have had since I took delivery July 23.

i have had SEVERE leaks on mine, both passenger and driver side. if the rain is heavy and constant, i will find the grooves in my slush mats filled to the brim with water. it leaks heavily through both windshield pillars as well as through the door and onto the passenger side door handle as described previously. so far the jeep has been into the dealer 7 times and the problem only seems to get worse. it has been serviced by the dealer as well as a trim specialist in the area, and most recently an engineer from chrysler corporate was flown in to work on it and still it leaks. i have already been through 2 new carpets, 3 new weather strips, and an all new plastic door frame. since buying the jeep in march i have been in a rental car while the leak has been worked on for 36 days. currently the car is in the process of becoming a lemon...

Raining pretty much nonstop here in Michigan. My front driver and passenger side footwells got all wet. I had to remove the plastic kick plates and pull up the carpet to let it dry out. Still a little damp. I didn't want any mold or mildew. Called the dealer last night and they said I can bring it in. However, this is my only vehicle and I need a loaner. Apparently, there are no loaners available right now. Maybe by weds or Thursday. It's not supposed to stop raining here until sat and my car is always left outside, as I live in an apt without a garage. Man I am getting pissed. After over 60 years of making the vehicle, how can Jeep still not make or help design a a soft top that doesn't leak?

It is pouring right now here in MI. MY JK is leaking bad on both sides. My uncle looked at it and he thinks he sees the problem(s). First, the rubber channel on the outside where the soft top meets the windshield acts as a funnel. The water runs down it to the sides (this causes the rainfall). This part we already knew, but in the upper inside corner of the black rubber sealing of the door frame (the part attached to the door and closest to the front of the vehicle) there is a large, long section that is cut out. The water gets in there and seeps inside of the rubber sealing. It travels along the sealing and can come out in the middle of the door, where you can see on the inside of the door there's a notch cut out of the sealing. At least on mine, if you pinch or pull on the rubber sealing, water oozes out of it. I have also noticed water dripping out of the seam mid way down on the front plastic A-Pillar Cover. At any rate, my floor mats had quite a bit of water in them yesterday.

HThis really pisses me off.

After reading Chrysler's half-assed fix to this problem, I didn't even want to bring her in. Adding some adhesive foam is a bunch of crap; I don't want little foam strips all over the place. Anyway, I did some investigating and checked all the points of contact where weatherstripping would contact steel/soft top. The soft top was sealing evenly all the way across the windshield and the doors were sealing good and looked flush when they were shut. Finally I saw a thin strip of adhesive foam about 2" from the right soft top clamp. There was not a strip like that on the left, so I pulled it off. So far, I have not had any leaks, and it's been raining 4-5 times a week.

My problem was intermittent to begin with, so I'm not sure if it's fixed or not; I'll just have to watch it.

Well if they can't get mine fixed after a few attempts, I will be researching the lemon law and probably leaving the thing at the dealer.

Ours just started leaking yesterday after a lot of wind and rain. just the driver door. It soaked the edge of the seat and the side of the door... We had two other heavy rains since we got it and no leaks. I will have to check out all the truoble spots everyone has mentioned.

After researching the Michigan Lemon Law and listening to the commonality of this problem, I might actually be better off if the Dealer cannot fix my soft top leak in 4 attempts. Don't know what I'd get instead. Probably a Tacoma.
