Default Spare rattles on a new JK?

My 2011 JKU Sahara just hit 2,000 miles and for about a week now there’s something bouncing on the very far back. I am thinking it’s the tailgate or the spare. Any ideas? Very annoying every time I go over a bump or a dip in the road.

Check your jack. I had the same, turns out the jack was loose and not extended in it's storage space causing an annoying rattle.

I've got an '11 and Im having the same problem. It's been driving me nuts! I believe its actually the storage tray that gets loose, not the spare. I've done several things so far and lining the underneath of the tray with foam works best.

Have a 2011 with 1,500 miles. Same problem, but might be the bolts for the doors rattling around back there.

My 2010 did the same thing and I finally figured out it was the spare tire carrier. It was broken and had a large crack along the top that allowed the tire to move around and make that clunking noise when I went over bumps. I was hoping it could be welded back together but it's made out of some kind of pot metal that's not the best to weld. I have no idea how it happended but a replacement carrier was in the $50 range on eBay.

thanks guys i think it sounds like it's coming from the outside. Drives me nuts but still could not figure it out. I might have someone drive while i sit beck there to hear exactly where it's coming from!

Same noise in my 2011 6,000miles. I've learned to live with it as long as it's not causing any safety/mechanical issues.
