Sad news. On my third trip today, after about 45 miles of driving the stupid ABS & traction control lights came back on. C1027.

And to add insult, I drive the Jeep to work this morning. The idiot lights went out a block away from my house and stayed out for my 10 mile drive to work. Very frustrating.

I'm wondering if you stopped in at a local shop if a Snap On OBDII tool or similar can diagnose this further and narrow it down?

Last night I took out the new, non OEM speed sensor and reinstalled the original mopar sensor. I have no confidence this will help the problem, but if I get the same error codes, I'll have to assume the problem is upstream from the sensor.

I think in this instance it would be best for you to troubleshoot with all mopar to rule it our. Rock has most of it. Don't go to the dealer.

Have you tried to swap sensors left to right? That would rule out a bad sensor pretty quickly. I can't say where I've had it take anything more than cleaning up the tone ring and replacing the sensor. I too have broken the stupid red tabs. They got clay in them and basically epoxied themselves clipped. What a nightmare it was to un-fishstick those.

Of course the Code C1020 came back again. So I've tried 3 different sensors and two connectors. Problem won't go away. Maybe time for a better scanner.

Have you explored the wiring from that side on the rear all the way to the front. Someone else recently had similar issue and then ended up finding faulty wiring along the way. Not sure I can find the thread at the moment but think Karl was in that thread too.....do you recall that Karl?

I've had someone use a nice SnapOn scanner on my jeep previously for a sensor issue back when I regeared the first time. If I recall, it could only pinpoint which sensor it was and not give anymore more detailed info than you already have (I am pretty sure but not 100% sure on the no more details).

Actually, this is the thread I was thinking of. It's an old thread that the OP updated late last month -

Thanks. I'll check out that thread. I also get the p0730 code. I've only chased the speed connector wire until it disappears in the top of the spring area.
The intermittent abs/traction light actually started coming on very soon after I had the broken exhaust valve spring and cams replaced last February. I assumed it was just a coincidence.
