The intermittent abs/traction light actually started coming on very soon after I had the broken exhaust valve spring and cams replaced last February. I assumed it was just a coincidence.
My speed sensor and intermittent ABS/TC have been a thing together also. I also have 'lost communication with dynamic sensor' or something like that. I expect it's all tied into a single fault somewhere.

I hate to even suggest it but as I look at what is causing my transfer case circuit high I can see that some have only solved it by replacing the TIPM. Not sure if that applies to me and I hope not to you but a possibility that a scanner could test it to find out? Shooting in the dark here.

I replaced my TIPM relatively recently due to a host of other codes and an intermittent no-start condition. I think the speed sensor codes were present before and after? I can't remember. I'd be pretty upset if the new TIPM was a dud from the get go. I'll check what records I have, hopefully the TC codes were there before the TIPM was replaced, or showed up a while after..

My guess is that my problem may be with the ABS control module, though I still don't understand the p0730 code which is the jeep telling me that the gear ratio is wrong.

Super chips can change the computer to think it's different gearing but I don't think you mentioned if you were using it or not. Maybe a wrong setting?

Doubtful the TIPM but just something to keep in mind. I really hate even throwing it out there but the other explanations above would make more sense than the TIPM. Even still I've seen weirder stuff so at least it made it on the list just in case.

As far as I know, my jk is 100% stock including suspension and tire size and is supposed to have 3.73 gears since it is a willys. I bought it a year ago at about 53,000 miles. The first three months were fine, then an exhaust spring broke. That along with the typical leaking oil filter housing set me back about $2800. The random abs/traction control lights started coming on shortly after the engine repair.

Your posts a couple back read my mind - I think you need to look at the ABS module as that is where all the wheel speed sensor signal wires go first. I think it takes a big $$ scanner system to re-initiate the ABS module. Check the connections at the rear side of the module. Not too bad to get the plug off for a look. Forgot how but Youtube has videos on how to get it removed. Couple of screws I believe. Also there are 1 switched and two hot 12V supplies to that ABS unit. They all come through a plug supported off the battery tray by the engine. Plug C102 or C105 something like that. I have the diagram at home. Can scan and send if you need.

Resurrecting this thread. I still have intermittent abs/traction lights. Today I took the connector off of the abs module and discovered that the green/black wire has had previous maintenance done to it. It is spliced, and that wire is outside of the wire loom that runs across the top of the fire wall in the engine compartment. Maybe that previous repair is flaky. So I'll get some new wire and replace the area that I can get to.

There is a plug (believe it is C102) adjacent to the battery tray on the side by the engine. Why they did this I do not know but it has 2 continual on power wires and 1 switched power wire all for the ABS system plus couple of other wires for something I forget. Check that connector. If I can remember I will post the wiring diagram for a 2008 system which may be the same when I get home tonight. Sounds like the connection may not be there all the time.
