Default Stock shock questions - Rubicon, Sahara, Moab.

Hey all. I'm shopping for some replacement shocks, and am seeing a lot of different part numbers for Rubicon, Sahara, and Moab shocks.

Few questions:

- Anyone know the differences are between the part numbers when we're talking about a specific model of shock? (IE, what are each of the Rubicon part numbers representing?)

- Anyone know what Moab shocks are? Are they Sahara shocks? Rubicon shocks? Neither?

- Are there difference between 2-door and 4-door shocks?

Here is some info I've gathered trying to make sense of everything. Obviously, it's not complete.

[I find it strange there are two different p/n shocks used on '13 Rubicon models.]

Front shocks:
Sahara: 52126711AD
Sahara: 68069525AA - OE14935
Sahara: 68069525AA - OE17225 - 4dr '13
Rubicon: 52126712AD
Rubicon: 68027794AA
Rubicon: 68186638AA - OE18340 - '13
Rubicon: 05168186AC - OE17226 - 4dr '12, '13, '14
Moab: 68086200AB - OE16003

Rear shocks:
Sahara: 52126751AC
Sahara: 68069754AA - OE14936
Sahara: 68066754AC - OE17225 - 4dr '13
Rubicon: 52126752AC - OE13598
Rubicon: 68027797AA
Rubicon: 68186639AA - OE18342 - '13
Rubicon: 05168188AC - OE17227 - 4dr '12, '13, '14
Moab: 68087200AB - OE16000

I am pretty sure the moab shocks are rubicon, same with the call of duty model. Most of the other special edition jeeps use sahara suspension.
The Sahara shocks are valved for a softer ride and the rubicon shocks are nitrogen charged. The 2 door and 4 door are likely valved slightly difference due to the different coils used and the different vehicle weights.

Go to a dealer get the vin number off a rubi 2 or 4 door on the lot and go to the parts counter and get the shocks. their about $80.00 ea.

Having used both Sport and Rubicon shocks on my JK, I'd recommend anything but a stock shock. Rubi shocks are bigger and better than Sport shocks, but they both fade quickly on rough surfaces and do only a mediocre job of damping spring motion at the best of times.

Thanks guys

I threw some cash at some Rubicon shocks - so I'll see how they do. I'm quite sure I can get my cash back on them if they don't work out.

The P/N's I grabbed I've seen come from a bunch of JKU's and 'one' 2-door hard-top tow-package Rubicon. (Which is what I have, but in Sahara form).

You are right, they are the same. I have the Call of Duty 4 door and I simply love it!

Something I am noticing (which jives with the above info):

Sahara shock bodies are all about the same length (front to rear).

Rubicon, Moab, and COD rear shock bodies are all about 1" longer than the fronts.

We all like pictures, right?

Rubicon vs Sahara vs Monroe Reflex Monotubes.

The rear Monroes are obviously very short. After I bought them, they released 1 or two more models that are longer.

Mine reflex shocks are longer as they were made for the rubi. I measured both.

I swear they became available a week after I got mine

How do you like yours? Are the holding up well?

I think mine [in the pictures] have right around 50K miles on them.
