Default Strange axle seal leak

I had my Jeep since last October and have had the front axle seals replaced once already. I noticed the passenger side front leaking again a few weeks ago after some trail riding. Once I brought it home and cleaned it up I haven't seen the seal leak again.

Is it possible that only when I use 4wd that the seal will leak? Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me? I would like to take it to the dealer to get fixed but it's not leaking anymore.

If I'm not mistaken, the front axles turn whether you are in 4wd or not.
If the leak is minor, a little oil could pool up in the tube perhaps and then work it's way out when you are tipping left & right on angled ground?

Try parking on the curb with that side low over night and see if there are any drips.

I might give that a try to see if I can get any more out of it.

I have an 07. Jeep 2d also. The exact thing happened to mine also. The front passenger side seal leaked. I had it replaced and no problems for a while. Then I blew my front passenger tire put on the new spair. A few weeks later I noticed grease stains on the inside side wall of the new tire. I took it back to the dealership they said this.

"There might be some grease that was on the outside of the seal repair and leaked out while 4x4ing." "That and it's normal for the axle seals to seap from time to time."

I could accept the first repsone but having a fixed or new axle seal "seaping" is total B.S. I think. But since they cleaned the area checked it etc. I've yet to notice anymore "seaping." So far so good. I hope that helps some.

Seals should not seap, hence the name seal.

Maybe ours are seaps.

My passenger side front seal seaped a little about 6 months ago. Cleaned it up and no seapage since. Fluid level is still good.

I just dropped mine off at the local dealer for the same front seal leaking. I noticed a few drops about 2-3 weeks ago after a trip to the beach. Then I get down there and look at it again on Friday and it looked like it was worse.

Would the seal leak more while you are driving or sitting in a parking lot? I would think more driving.

This is the first leak I noticed

When was the last time you checked the oil level in your axle? It could be slap out.
