I have a set of 33/12.50's on Craggar 16X8's with no rubbing what so ever. I have run 305/70R16's on a stock 7" rim on my fullsize chevy. The tires fit fine... but I wouldn't recomend it for offroading.

This sounds exactly what I'm trying to figure out right now myself. Basically what size tire can I get on my 16" stock 7" wide steelies without using spacers, lift or wrong tire to rim widths.

I'd be interested to hear about the people who put on the 285/75-16's and the 265/75-16's also and quite possibly what brands they chose. I would like to get the biggest I could but I've heard that anything over 32" will rub.

I'm like you ESPMike. I need help figuring out what to put on her on a budget without having to purchase other stuff. These "rental car tires", not to put too fine a point on it....... SUCK!!!

I'm in Moncton, New Brunswick and I'm also trying to find locally.

Post up some pics of the before and after if you can. I'm with you on this one.

As a side note..... I found some Nitto Terra Grappler LT265/75R16 Part # NIT200-010 for 126.95 each. They are 31.54" in diameter and fit a 7-8" rim. Load 3415. ANy thoughts?

you can mount the 285's or the 305's to your stock wheels. Not ideal... but workable untill you can buy rims. I ran 305/70 R16's on 16x7 wheels on my last truck untill I bought craggars. You will need wheel spacers. There is not much room to get wider than 10.5's on stock rims. I would say... check out your clearance now with stock rims. measure how much wider your tires can get without rubbing. Than figure out the difference in width of the new tire and the old tire. You will need to allow for half of the difference for the new tires clearance.

I went with the same exact tires. I had planned on running them on the stock rims, but ended up going with the Crager Soft 8s. I found the tires through Discount Tire Direct for 117 each, delievered to my door. Would love to have gone local, but saving $50-$100 helped me pay for my rims. They were good folks over there.
I went with the Terras because I was looking for a good AT tire that isn't as boring as the Wrangler STs that came on my JK.

My MTZs should be in this week, and I plan to order some Cragars from Quadratec in the next day or two. My only next problem is the speedo. I do alot of high speed driving commuting to school and work, and I think the difference will be pretty huge driving that much (28miles each way). What do you guys do for speedometer correction? Just suck it up and buy the AccuPro, or do any tire places have the ability to flash it? The dealer will only do up to 32".

I went from the stock 32" tires to the 305's. the tire dia. isn't much different. The speedo is off less than a mile an hour at 75mph. The dealer said that they can correct the speedo for up to 35" tires.

My dealer said they didnt do that. Theres another dealership locally Im going to contact. My dealer was great for the sale, but so far the after-service has been less then par. Hopefully the other dealership will take me in, and hopefully flash mine for me.
