Most dealers only do up to a 32". I'm motioning for WOL to being a Rental policy for the accupro. Or for accupro to offer rentals!

All this stuff sounds great except for the speedo problem, clearance and getting the tires I want!

I'm guessing that my speedo will be substantially off going from 225/75's to 285/75's! Maybe a 285/70 or 65 would be better? Larger tires but a little lower sidewall for clearance maybe?

I can't even find the Nitto's here locally and they are exactly what I'm looking for in a tire for price and my driving situations. If I get them shipped here the shipping cost doesn't make them such a good deal anymore. Any suggestions or ideas?

So just to confirm.... I can put on a 265/75-16 for sure and quite possibly a 285/75-16 with my stock steelies with a 7" wide rim and 6.25" backspacing?

This is awesome guys. Definitely a good resource knowing you guys have gone or are going through the same things.

Cheers,
Steve

People have put 285's on the 7in rim before without issue. I'm personally wary, (especially with the way my luck goes) about doing that because the tire manufacturers seem to recommend a minimum of 7.5inches of width.

As far as getting them online. Our sponsor, discounttires.com ships for free. Get a quote using them!

Funny, that's what I'm worried about. If the tire manufacturer recommends something as far as tire rim width... I tend to listen.
Like I said I'm working with stock steelies (for now) until I can giter done the way ESPMike can kidding bro.

Just checked out the website..... can't get past the "enter your zip code" part due to my area code being from Canada! Any other ideas? It says coast to coast shipping. Does that mean the US coasts only?
Anybody know of any companies that ship to Canada without it costing the amount of a fifth or sixth tire!

Anyway, as you can see the frustration. Thanks though.

Well tires are supposed to be in today, I'll see my buddy tonight who was getting them in for me and hopefully get an update of whats going on. He said he'd call from the shop soon as they came in but no word yet. I just started a week of PTO from work so I'll have plenty of play time.

I ordered wheels finally yesterday from jegs. So far Im very impressed. 55.99 each for Cragar soft 8 16x8s and free shipping! Plus they ship, as long as the order is in by 9pm, the same day! So the wheels went out yesterday, and Im anxiously awaiting delivery. Should have some pics up by the end of the week.

Still not sure what Im doing about the speed correction, I unfortunately dont have an extra $200 at christmas time to use on an AccuPro. I do intend to order one pretty much asap though, most likely the 26th.

Cool stuff indeed. What's the backspacing of the soft 8's? OK... duh..... 5" back spacing with 285/75-16's interested to see how these look and work.
Can't wait to see the pics.
So this is just wheels and tires right? No lift or spacers or anything yet?

Nope no lift, no spacers, just less backspacing on the wheels. Ive seen it done before with 12.5" tires so Im not worried. I just cant wait to go pick it all up!

hey guys,

Your dealer is able to correct your speedo up to 33-35" tires. Every dealer should be able to handel the tire swaps from the 225's up to the 265 or 285. They are close to the same size as tires that come on the 17's. The problem some people have is that thier dealer doesn't know how to use thier computer.

If any one is in Southern New England I can get you in touch with a service manager or two. My dealer is in North Attleboro, Ma and another location in Southern RI
