If you have an '08 with tow pacakge you should have 3.73, unless you have a Rubicon then you will have 4.10 no matter what.

More like the "Trailer Hitch Package". I wouldn't tow anything...you could put one of those hitch bike racks on there.

Are you kidding? Mine didn't come with the tow package, and I purchased the hitch receiver after the fact, put it on myself, use it to tow my utility trailer to and from the hardware store. Your good for at least 1000lbs

Automatics come with the "tow package gears"
Manuals are the only ones that MAY have 3.21 gears

I bought the 2008 in 2009, there was a significant cost saving vs. buying a brand new 2009 model (bigger rebates).

The tow package was added by the dealer, paid $400 and installed for free.

I can cause a stink all I want, something tells me that the dealer won't budge on this one.

$400...? Installed for free...? ...

Hitch receiver and wiring harness cost about $100, so you actually paid about $300 for them to install four bolts for you.

You didn't really think you were getting a gear swap for $400, did you?

Oh, sorry, did I type that out loud?

Yeah...I don't know, maybe we're losing something in the translation here Atticka...so you payed 400.00 dollars for the 'tow package' ? But that's just the hitch and plug harness...and they installed it for free? If that is the case you DID get screwed HARD....you could have installed it for free yourself in about 15 minutes with a basic socket set and phillips screwdriver...when I bought mine I think I payed a total of about 115 for the harness and receiver

I paid $65 for a class three hitch on ebay and installed it in 15 minutes. That's too bad that the dealer shafted you. Let's not cap on the OP for getting screwed by the dealer. It's the dealer's fault for being a$$holes. Sometimes it sucks being an innocent customer. I'd raise a stink. F$ck man you drop all this money on their product and they have the nerve to screw a customer. What bullshit. No wonder they're bankrupt they mistreat their customers plain and simple.

THis is why it pays to come to JK-Forum BEFORE doing something that you're not sure about.

Absolutely pearl-drum-man. In fact there should be a notice on the window sticker that reads "Do not purchase w/o consulting with JK forum._
