TPMS breakage
So this past weekend my wife and I went on a poker run. It was a blast and the stock JK really held up well with a ton of TJ's with lifts. However, when I went to air up my tires my TPMS would not shut off. A trip to the local Discount Tire and the answer I got was take the JK into the dealership since I'm under warranty. An hour later and I found out one of my sensors is broken and it's not at the valve stem. I think it'll be interesting to see if the actual sensor is busted from possible impact or if all the bumping around caused the sensor to fail. Anyone else bust a sensor because their tires were aired down???

I think I broke a sensor or two OR all 4
....not sure how they would test each sensor to see which one is broken???? I was aired down to 15psi on my 33x12.50R17 Cooper STT's. Talking with a buddy he figures I should have only aired down to 20 PSI
. I am sure they will not be covered under warranty from off-roading and airing down.
At the dealership they pull each tire off and put them on some machine that picks up the signal sent from the sensor, which is how they knew only one of mine needs to be replaced. They are under the three year warranty because they are not technically wearable items, or at least that's what the head of service told me.

if you have any patches in the tire they will not cover it under warranty. they should have a little hand held device that will re-train each sensor, and they one that does not respond in the broken one. thats how i did it when i worked at ford. a word of advice, raise enough hell and they should cover it
The day I was going to take into the Dealer to find out which sensor(s) was shot.....my TPMS light went out (_!_). What gives on this??? Why was the light on for 3 or 4 days and suddenly shuts off??? Wrangler demon???
