Also, check your front wheel bearings. A worn one can be loose enough to make the ABS sensor not read correctly.
I have changed out the sensors on all 4 corners, but still my BAS, ABS and traction control lights are on. I have slight movement (while on a jack) on the front pass wheel. Would you agree the loose bearing could confuse the system and cause the lights to appear? How loose of a bearing would cause the fault at that sensor? Please help.

I have the ESP kill switch mod done on my rig. It's been working fine for almost a year but I took it all apart just to make sure. All solder joints were redone and re shrink wrapped. Also checked the switch. Still having the issue.

I have a feeling its the wheel sensor but how do I figure out which one it is without a code?!?

The ESP pulls the jeep to the left and pulses the ABS every time you touch the brakes with the ESP engaged. I can drive the jeep fine with the kill switch thrown.

Any ideas?
You need to make sure the scanner is capable of CAN interface, AND ABS interface. A standard scanner will not work to find any ABS/ESP/TC trouble codes.

It was my wheel bearing! I changed out the loose wheel bearing assy that was also giving me an error fault. I used the auto part store scanner to confirm. Thanks for the advice.

Hey guys,

I am having the same issue off and on for two or three months. I am still a little confused...

How do I check if a wheel bearing is bad?
How do I tell if the wriggle is the bearing of ball joint?
I looked up videos on replacing wheel baring...do I need to worry about any seals or fluids while doing this?
Are there bearings in the rear wheels too?

How can a bad bearing throw an ABS/Traction Control light?

If none of the bearings are bad, then should I replace all the sensors?

Do the 2012 JKs have a transmission output shaft sensor or just the four wheel sensors?

On the front, jack the tire off the ground. Grab the tire top and bottom. Try to wiggle the tire, then spin it by hand. It you get no play, and it spins smoothly and quietly, chances are the bearing is good. If you get play in the wheel, have someone wiggle the tire while you watch from the inside, looking for relative motion between the wheel and hub.

The front unit bearing includes the hub. It is replaced as one piece. No seals or fluids to worry about.
The rear bearings will involve seals. You won't lose any fluid if you jack the tire off the ground a little higher than just clearing the ground.

The rear has bearings, too. Check them by jacking a rear tire off the ground, and trying to move the wheel up and down. You may find a little in-and-out play, which is normal.

How can a bad bearing throw an ABS/Traction Control light?
A bad bearing can cause the ABS sensor and the tone wheel to lose their close tolerance relationship.

If none of the bearings are bad, then should I replace all the sensors?
Have you checked for a code to see if it is a particular sensor giving problems?

Speed is read from the ABS wheel sensors.

Go to this thread to see what's inside the front unit bearing: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/stoc...-study-124299/

Only codes ive gotten are c2103, c2101 and u1412. No code specifying a wheel sensor.

Default 2008 wrangler just replaced rear sensor

When driving (2008 Wrangler) (down the road abs and traction error codes come and go, bogs the vehicle down when happening. Went to Autozone and they ran diagnostic; just about every error code was coming from right rear sensor. I bought one off rockauto.com. Red tab was the most trouble to get off first, get the harness off the sensor, then loosing the retaining bolt with 8mm socket and take out then replace with the new one.

Default Dashboard Christmas Tree!

Just had the dash flash almost every light at me, got the chime and lost speed indications but it immediately came back and lights went out. Only have 16K miles so I will have the dealer fix it, I hope....
I am going to see if any codes exist...
