Unhappy

Funny you should ask. I have driven 17,000 miles in 8 months. Last week, I spied the dreaded red spots on my garage floor. Took my 2008 Red Wrangler Unlimited 4X4 to the dealer. Yep - failed water pump. To make matters worse, no dealer in the entire North Texas area, including the Jeep regional warehouse, had any water pumps in stock. So we had to special order/special deliver one from Detroit. Hopefully, it will arrive tomorrow (January 2) and be installed without any problems.

Dealer said this is the first time he had had to deal with a failed water pump on a JK.

My observation - lack of parts availability is likely associated with Chrysler/Jeep's financial situation. I only hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Wow even the 9% as it is now seems really high! Last water pump I had fail was way back on 1-08-1982. I fixed it 1-10-1982 in my driveway in Beavercreek OH. I had someplace I had to be that day!

1979 Mustang, the only vehicle I did not put over 100,000 miles on (I don't think I could have afforded to make it last that long)
