Default What is this?? (34611-B Hose)

I looked under the rear end tonight and noticed this tube hanging down and broken at the other end. It's black rubber and has 34611-B written on it.

What is this, what's it for, and is it important??

Granted I'm looking at this via my phone but looks like it might be your axle breather hose

Do you see the NIPPLE on the first picture on the right hand side of the pumpkin. This is the breather for the axle so water will not get into your differential. Put a clamp on the hose and re-attach it to the open nipple on the right hand side that is on pic 1 and you will be OK.

Hope this makes sense tried to make it as simple as possible

Bingo! Stick it back on the nipple that is on the axle and clamp it.

Cool, thanks. I'll attach the tube to the nipple on the axle.

What about the other end of the tube with the white plastic breather nozzle. It appears to have been attached somewhere previously and now is floating in my tire well.

Yeah, that's where the stock ones live; not the best spot & many people extend & relocate their breathers, particularly if they're into watersports or running a lift & doing a little flexing on the rocks. Now might be the time to do the same yourself...

Here's a link to a writeup link with pics that show the breather in question and how to extend the tubes.

If you look at your last picture you attached directly behind the hose there is a small black circular thing. and you can see on the end of your hose there is a barbed plastic piece that is broken. That is what most refer to as a christmas tree clip. The end of the breather hose attaches to the inside of the inner fender there.

I would suggest you follow the write up and extend your hose.

How did this happen on both ends. Did you do some serious wheelin, or were you under the messing with things. Just curious.
