I go with royal purple 5w20 with a fram filter, but pep boys had the royal purple filter for the same price when you buy 5 qts last time so I went with that.

There is a difference in filters, I work in Hydraulics and there is a difference in filters.
I use the Amsoil filters as they filter more small particles than most,
AMSOIL Ea Oil Filters (EaO) have the best efficiency rating in the automotive/light-truck market. EaO Filters provide a filtering efficiency in accordance with industry standard ISO 4548-12 of 98.7 percent at 15 microns, while competitive filters containing conventional cellulose media range from 40 to 80 percent efficiency.

the oil change indicator has no idea what kind of oil you put in the engine. It does not measure or sample the actual oil. The indicator is based on an algorithm that takes into account a variety of factors including number of cold starts, run time, run time at operating temperature, etc, etc.

Mobil, Amsoil, or Wesson oil, the OCI doesn't know/doesn't care.

I was using Mobil1 5w20 (which never let me down) but just this last change I switched to Royal Purple, in both the diffs and the engine. I also opted for the 5w30 as well. I used several different filters with knock on many (Mobil, K&N, Mopar, Fram, Napa) all had knock on cold cranks, some alot worse than others but all knocked. So I ended up using the Purolator PureOne (#PL20195) and have been super satisfied, I have had no knock period. Not once (so far) so I am definitely going to recomend it to everyone. I think I have found the combo for my JK's extended life. Royal Purple with Purolator PureOne for the win. JOE>
