Bought the "package" oil change for the 3 years 36,000 mile through dealer so dino and mopar filter every 3,000.After warranty, Mobil 1 and K and N filter. Got the knock on start up so went to Valvoline Syn (was on sale from 7.50 per quart to 3.99) Looked up the 300,000 mile engine guarentee and it was way to restrictive to keep track of. They had a 4,000 mile or less change and I don't wheel much and I commute a ton so I push 5,000 + and the extra oil changes with the restrictions (I'm not sure if they would cover it with towing or wheeling). I went with the Mopar oil filter and no knock.

In order to back up this statement, you'd need to actually have your oil tested. I have mine tested every 15-20,000 miles, and have yet to see an oil sample that was completely used up - and that's with 7-10,000 mile drains.

I highly recommend anyone who's planning on having a vehicle 100,000 miles or more to do this occasionally. I have no affiliation with any testing companiues, but their info is really nice to be able to track over time.

Another vote for Mobil 1 and Fram (Extended). I've used this combination for as long as I can remember (long time actually ), run vehicles to almost 200K miles, hard miles, no leaks, no burning. Changes @ 5000 miles. I'm convinced

Mobil 1 with either a Mobil 1 or Fram extended life filter. Seems to cut down on the ticking noise when it's first started. My wife drives the Jeep mostly, seems like everytime I turn around it has 7000+ miles since the last oil change. Takes me a couple years to get that many on my truck.

since we are talking about oil i wanna share something i heard. idk if its true maybe someone can give an insight

i heard that switching from conventional to synthetic oil once.. is good. but switching back and forth from standard oil to synthetic oil is awful to the engine due to the fact the lubrication isnt the same. gaskets and valve seals (things of that sort) and such tend to perform better/worse under changing oils and causes premature engine failure (failure caused by those parts i mentioned deteriorating) due to inconsistency of a standard or synthetic oil.

is this true? (IDK why someone would switch back and forth)

i know that mobil 1 is a blend... but what is better? standard, blend, or a true synthetic? I run mobile 1. my engine tends to be missing 1qt by the next oil change... why?
