Why all the 4 dr jeeps
OP here. Maybe I should have went the other way and asked why we buy 2 dr. When I bought my 2012 jk as soon as it was home the rear seat was removed so storage has never been a problem.
I'm going to conclude the main reason is kids and being able to take more people.
As for the comment that they climb better- no way in hell or not in our type of terrain , our wheeling group has 9 jeeps with 2 dr and 1- 4dr. When our trails get tight and rutted the one guy leave's his jeep and goes with someone else.
I want to thank all for YOUR reason's for owning your 4 dr jeep. And I'm not really new just new here.
Thanks guys and happy wheeling.

The 4-door is all about being able to load up a family and do the things you can't do in a 2-door. Ultimately, that's what jeep is all about...The freedom to go wherever whenever. Not the number of doors. Enough of this "purist" talk.
This coming from someone with a 2-door without a back seat!

Ironically I bought a 2 door so it would fit in my garage. In the winter all the patio furniture and summer stuff would make it impossible to fit a 4 door. In the summer my hard top and doors take up that space. Right now my boys are 10 and 6 so we have no problem fitting in the 2 door. We even have a 25 pound Corgi. Luckily camping has been replaced with a cottage so we don't have to bring as much with us. My plan is to give my 2 door to my oldest boy in 7-8 years. I could see myself getting a 4 door when the boys are bigger.
I'm just glad Jeep gives us a choice.
I'm all about the two door because I like the short wheel base combined with high center, it's a very cool driving experience. But the have crap for storage in the two doors, that's for sure.

Hi from Sweden
I had a small 2 door suzuki Jimny before and I went to a Jeep seller. Saw a 2 door wrangler and thought it was huge, but still wanted that, my girlfriend thought it was to big.
One year latter I went to my local jeep seller and I ordered a 2 door Wrangler, yhey did not have one at home to look at.
After 11 months I got my 2012 2 door Sahara. I then noticed the small trunk and almost no foot space for the rear passangers.
I got more and more intressested in Camping with people, did not have that intrest when I had my suzuki.
I also wanted a small vehicle with good turning circle when I am using the vehicle to take photos of birds and mammals, sometimes I have to be fast to turn back to take photos of the birds and mammals.
After 3 months with the 2 door I wanted to trade it in for a 4 doors but they wanted about 20 000 dollars for that trade, expensive in sweden and few would by a 2 door jeep or any jeep here, no big market for jeep here.
I like that you can stuff things under the front seats and rear seats in a 4 door, that is not so possible in a 2 door. Also rear passengers have better boot space in a 4 door. But strangly, both me and my girlfriend found that the backseat was more comfortable to sit in the 2 door compared to the 4 door. We think that rearseat in a 4 door is more up right and have shorter seat cushion and then less good leg support.
I want a military look and not so much a trail vehicle look, so I find that with stock size wheels looks quite OK on a 2 door, but If i get a 4 door I would probably want to lift it and put bigger wheels on it and that cost very much in Sweden.
I told my girlfirend that we could sleep in the 4 door, then she say, If we go camping for about one week with fridge, chairs, tables, stove and other stuff, where do we put them if we sleep in the back, good question
I just put on 265/70/17 almost as high as my 18" stock dueller. And I think it looks rather good.
