Default Windshield Price Thread

OK Guys
It happened this weekend. Heard a loud TICK and didn't see anything. Next morning the line came down dead center from the top.

Get out to look and got a huge edge chip dead center on top!

I just want to know what you guys paid b4 I make phone calls tomorrow.

Thanks
Mike

You should ask a dealer...
I wouldn't get any other windshield except for the OEM. I know mine is slightly tinted. But wouldn't know wha the price would be...But anything, you can call ur insurance and tell them a rock hit it and the price would be cheaper.

But then you have a claim on your account..and over a windshield that doesn't cost more than most people's deductable, probably not the best idea IMO.

Did you know?
Insurance can help pay. If you have comprehensive insurance, you can replace your windshield and only pay the deductible. If your deductible is $100 and your auto glass is $300, you'll save $200 by using insurance. And because an auto glass claim is almost always a "no-fault" claim, it won't affect your rates.

Ask your auto glass professional about your insurance options.

Safellite says $305. to replace. They call it their spring special @ 52% off normal price of around $650.

What he said. My insurance (with comprehensive) doesn't even have a deductible for glass. They pay the whole thing. And, I've had about four windshields replaced on various cars in the past twenty years (all with the same insurance company) and it never effected my rates. I periodically "shop" the policy and other companies can't touch them.

CT is - After reading a few posts by other Jeepers a few months ago, I made sure that my comprehensive coverage covered autoglass... it does, w/ $0 deductible (Allstate).

Allstate also. But despite our auto glass experience, we still refer to them as "the good fingers people". Guess which fingers! Had a house fire once....hope Allstate adjuster rots in hell.
