Default BC Online Backroad Map?

Hey Guys,

Have you or do you use this online map to search out back-roads to explore?

It looks interesting and possibly up to date.

Cheers,

For myself I keep a copy of Backroad Mapbook, Volume 1, Southwestern B.C. under my seat.

Yeah, I spent most of my life in Manitoba, just moved out here a few years ago, and you can almost go wherever you want around there.

I was also looking at a copy of that guide the other day, want to see if it is the best thing out there.

I like the ability to turn on/off air photos and topography contours on the site though.

This is the site that I use all the time and sometimes Google earth to get photo imagery of the area for land features, etc.

Sometimes I use this as well.....http://www.geobc.gov.bc.ca/ but you will require a BCeID user name and password for some of the mapsheets and layers.

I use this site all the time http://www.geobc.gov.bc.ca/ it is similar site with the same map views....but it has more dynamic numbers of maps of British Columbia. Some mapsheets and layers you will require a BCeID as you will see some maps are secured for industry/government user groups.

This site is very helpful and is updated daily based on electronic submission by industry and government.

True, but it's nice to be able to plan a route in an area you are unfamiliar with

If you register here, you may be able to download a bunch of air photos and other stuff, might help.
