Ya these are on my top 5 list of things I wanna buy next

 

Ok, I'm definitely getting a set of these. I've been tossing around the idea of doing something like this myself, mainly to help quiet down the interior for my audio system....but this looks it would be much more professional....and less time consuming.

So does anyone know which grey best matches the 2007-2010 factory grey yet? I'm currently leaning towards the "Medium Dark Grey". Then again, I did replace all my seats with a Katzkin leather Grey kit.....so probably need to match that.....aithough, matching the carpeting wouldn't be a bad idea either. I think I might need to get some of those swatches.

Anyone have pics of the side window panels? I'm planning on doing the whole 4 door and side window kits.

What about the rear window pillars? Any of these kit sections cover that up also?

Honestly, I'm not too concerned about these things coming loose from the extreme temperatures. I'm more interesting in knowing that these things won't shake, rattle or fall down under the +115 dB SPL vibration test, I'm going to be putting them through.

Well, I missed the sale by three days, but that's okay. I work on the road and have been wanting this for a while. I contacted Mark on a Sunday via PM and told him I was going to be in the same location for a week and asked if he could get me a set quickly. He agreed to ship them out the next day and I had them on Friday. I installed them on Friday by myself in less than 30 minutes.

We have all seen documentation on the heat reduction. Many comments are on noise reduction, so I decided to test this. I had been running the decibel meter on my iphone of a few days driving the same route and watching my speed.. I know its not a scientific instrument, but comparing it against itself should be consistent. After installing the hotheads headliners, I went out and drover the same 12 mile route back and forth 10 times over the next 3 days. The speed along this route went from dead stop to 60 miles per hour for about 8 miles.

Here's what I found:

This is without the headliners 82 average and 93 peak


This is with the headliners 76 average and 91 peak


So regardless of the accuracy of the instrument, I can safely say, it gives about a 7% reduction in average road noise at around town speeds up to 60 mph.

I had a specific wind whistle between 42 and 47 mph, I don't notice it now. I am not sure why these would eliminate the whistle or if they just mask it.

Another thing I want to mention is the rear window surrounds.
The pictures don't do these things justice.
They fit awesome and look awesome. For whatever reason, these are my favorite part.
