Awesome brother! Many years from now, when you look back at your time in the service, you will not be sorry. It was 21 years ago when I joined. Still remember my recruiter picking me up at the front door and taking me to MEPS. Only time I remember seeing my dad shed a tear.

..The Hardest thing i've had to do was talk to me mom about it...she thought i was doing it to get away from her
...After many tears i got her to calm down and promised ill visit and call her from now and then..but man i felt me feel like i've been mean to her for her to think that 
....all said and done, she is proud if me(says it 5 times day) and all is happy 
So there's my storyoh and yeap..1st time i've shead a tear in years but all in all i think it made us closer

Did you join the Navy? If you did, then you will be called a Seaman Recruit (SR). A private would be Army, or Marine; Airforce would be Airman Basic, and the U.S. Coast Guard is a part of the Department of Transportation in peacetime and the Navy in times of war. It has the same rank structure as the Navy.

IMHO that is who you will work for, that is who you are there for. you are there, so they can be home, safe, with their families.

Department of Homeland Security. and my mistake, it wasn't the kitty, it was the USS JFK (CV 67). i guess the deal fell through though. i can't find anything on it now. i'm not sure there are enough people in the CG to operate a carrier and all their canoes.
