There could be but planning has not really started.

When I returned from Kandahar, Scott thought that he would not be available to hold the event this year.
But that has now changed, now it is my work schedule that has been messing up even the initial planning as to when to hold it.

I had been hoping to hold an even early in the year, maybe even in April before the other trails opened in May, but for the past 3 months work has prevented me from being able to commit to any time period.

I'm not sure if we will have time to organize a full weekend event like we held in the past, so we might need to figure out what to include.

Getting feedback here to see interest, support, and a possible date could help kick start planning for an event this year.

(I am busy June 24 weekend, so that is out and I will be going away for work for up to 4 weeks which has now been delayed until mid May or later. Maybe July could work?)

Those of you who had done the JK Jam in the past....would you consider it stock friendly, and a family event?

Absolutely, when I went, my JK was 3 months old and totally stock. Got a lot of great advise. Took my 13 year old son along for the weekend and he had a blast.

Anyone interested in information about the event could easily find some information if you google "jkjam". (or type that into your browser's address bar with a 'com'mon or a 'ca'nadian suffix)

I set up two webpages (one links to the other) but I can not post web links here in this forum.

I have not updated the website since I returned from Afghanistan last fall so there isnt any current info about an event this year, but lots of info on past events.

The more interest and possible assistance would go along way to jump starting something for this year.

The first step is to decide ona date. This is pretty tough since Scott works weekends and has to arrange vacation time to hold it.

I am infavour of having an early spring evnt when the ground is still muddy, and can get people with new rigs at thye beginning of the season, but Scott is in favour of later in the summer when the gorund is dry enough to host camping at the site. We are too late to have an event in April (or event May now) so if we did try a spring even it will have to be next year.

Another option would be to arrange the even for late summer/early fall but have a single day mini event which concentrated on the training course only without the overnight camping or the trail runs.

Just a thought.
