Just picked up 60 lbs of venison, looking to cook a 2lb venison round today. Any recipes out there you all like?

Step one: shred the venison.
Step two: mix in some Miracle Whip with the venison
Step three: slap the venison on a hamburger bun.

Bon appetit.

Slice it thin,a little salt and pepper, melt a little butter in a cast iron skillet and fry it over medium low heat.Enjoy it with a cold one.

if you got the time, slow roast in a smoker for most of the day throw it on a slicer and you will never want for a pit beef sandwich again........

Sounds really good. I always liked venison over beef anyway....same with moose....

Another way my father used to cook it was......

Seer / brown it quick in a little oil with flour and seasonings. Then add a can of tomato sauce, chopped olives, mushrooms, and onions and saute till done. Serve with mashed potatoes and use all the vegies in the pan like gravy. Salad goes good with it too. It's almost like a Chicken Cacciatore only with venison....

Put some sweet vermouth in a spry bottle and spray the meat each time you turn it on the grill.

One way I've bbq'd it was after being sauteed in a vinaigrette salad dressing.

Slow cooked all day in an onion soup base mix is a simple way to do a roast. Nothing like walking onto the house after work to that smell!

And yes, it beats beef any day.
