Well now, drop the app that uniquely identifies the forum you belong to, ie; JK Forum and the specific vehicle tied to the app, the Jeep JK: and now use a one size fits all vehicle app. This is cost cutting. It is not developer lacking skills since the JK app already runs. The developers are choosing to support a generic app, willingly or are advised. Another company that had a similar strategy is Yahoo, and they are going on sale.

So, you may as well change the name of the JK Forum to GarageTalk because that's the ICON everyone will see. When will GarageTalk decals become available?/

Advertising is everything in a add run business. Product placement is paramount. This move of replacing the JK Forum App will hurt in the long run. Everyone and specially new owners will not call or see this forum JK, but a generic garage for motorcycles, cars, and trucks. Everything a Jeep is not. No longer unique, just another form of transport.

Disclaimer: years ago and for a few decades I was part of the advertisement biz. The goal is to stand apart and be one-of-a-kind. This is a bad decision to lump a special brand with everything else.

Now that I no longer have permission to see information about a members post, I no longer can help that member. Great move.

Yea it hasn't hurt yet. And jk-forum used to be on tapatalk a while back which is a lot like garage talk, only better. Depending on the features the new garage talk app adds, it shouldn't hurt anything. I've been a part of this forum for years and very little has hurt this forum. I personally wish they hadn't dropped tapatalk. I loved having all the forums in part of in one app easily switchable between them.

You can see info about a members post. You can see their profile. If you choose not to use garage talk then your the only thing keeping yourself from helping people.

I think it comes down to IB choosing not to deal
With the many vehicle specific apps. Instead its easier to maintain a one size fits all app. Same with other forums, JKF is not the only forum dealing with this.

With Tapatalk, JK Forum app was still active. Now, to cut costs, they are dropping the JKForum App. There will no longer be a Jeep JK App. When anyone looks for the JKForum Logo they will NOT see it. Logos are big money because it is the symbol of the brand. Recall the big contest to create a new logo when the original owner sold to IB. Remember when logos sold by venders without permission were actually stealing?

This move replaces Jeep as a stand-alone symbol to just an item in a long list.

Don't be surprised when newbies call this forum GarageTalk. I am somewhat joking about GarageTalk decals because I see this happening.

I prefer the Forum's app. I log on from my iPad and really don't like using the web interface (it's ok if I am on the computer but rarely if ever go on the Internet with it). I have tried Tapatalk in the past and removed it - a couple of times, don't like it. Please update the app

Hi,

The IB Community Manager, is having the VBulletin techs look at our VB version to see if it is causing the error and the app developers to check their end. I do not have an estimated time to trouble shoot and fix the app but will update when I have more info.

In the meantime please use the JK Forum or Garage Talk app or both that work best for you. We appreciate your patience, thanks!

I think I'll just delete the JK app. And stick with Jeep forum! I don't have time to rebuild my profile again!

My bad, had some apple account issues. No cc is needed, sorry all.

Still don't want to switch, love jk-forum app.
