I have a farm 7 miles from the park, you want to stay in either Montevideo or Appleton, there is a pretty good bar in Appleton with pool tables and good food, its called Shooters. You could stay in Appleton, or in Monte, you will have a much better and scenic drive from Monte than from Willmar, plus its closer. There are plenty of places to eat or stay in Monte, and I think this time of year you should not have a problem getting a cheap room in Appleton.

well i'd say if there is a decent place to stay in Appleton that would be the route to go IMO. as mentioned, mnducky said there is a fun little bar in Appleton as well that would probably be a good place to shoot some pool and toss back some perhaps its even within walking distance to the hotel so no one has to drive if they've had a couple, 13-14 too many

I like it! When i bought my jeep the winch was already on there but the previous owner left no controller so ill have to make some calls and find one that will work with it. Also, does anyone have a tree saver? All i have is a tow strap

http://prairiewatersinn.com/ in Appleton is a good place to stay, $58 a night for a room is what the guy said on the phone, im sure he'd give a deal for more than one room being booked.

The bar/restaurant I would go to is called Shooters Bar and Grill. The town of Appleton spans over about 1 mile and everyone in town is quite friendly, so you can't really get lost. There are a few different service stations in town, and a pretty good hardware store that has just about anything you would need.

If you wanted to stay in Monte, there are multiple options, and you will have no problem with availability this time of year. If it was the opening of fishing, or especially during hunting season it would be different. I personally go with the cheapest hotel for situations like this, because I wont be spending hardly any time in the room except while sleeping. Because of the availabilty of the hotel in Appleton, and it being closer to the ORV park, I'd stay there.

shooters is about 1/3 of a mile from the hotel, so you could hoof it there and back if you wanted.
