The fact is crazies and criminals will get their hands on guns regardless. I'd like to have lawful ownership as well and rely on law abiding citizens (including myself) when the police are not available... which unfortunately is most of the time.
In Canada we also don't have the right to own private property. Viking does that mean we should criticize Americans for having the right to something we don't?
Hell no. I am Canadian, but God bless America.

The Sig 55x family (and their predecessors) are in no way related to the Stoner/Armalite AR family. Sig makes an AR-15 variant but it is not of the Sig 55x family.
Holy cow!
I live in London, England which has a higher crime rate than New York and only the army would have access to guns like these.
Our police don't even carry guns on themselves. If they did then the criminals would start carrying them also. If they're needed they send in a SWAT team armed to the teeth.
If anyone was caught in possession of one of these it's 10-15 years in jail, before a shot is even fired.
Aren't you guys worried that some mentally unstable or very angry person could just buy an assault rifle and kill innocent people, like we have seen so many times in the past in many different countries?
I do have 2 airsoft rifles and a handgun, but I need a license to keep the plastic replicas, need to be over 21 years of age and have to be a member of a club and play airsoft several times a year, and these only fire plastic bb's!!!
What I'm saying is that if someone was to break into a house, they're going to be armed in case the home owner is armed. So really, its a no win situation. I suppose it's too late to change anything as it's now too late.
Yes I think the guns look very cool, hunting is OK but some of these are clearly not hunting rifles they're assault rifles designed to kill in numbers.
That's just my rant, and my opinion living over the pond. We have a major problem with knife crime in the UK, if I knew criminals could easily get their hands on guns instead of knives I would swap the baseball bat under my bed (which is technically illegal) for at least a Glock.

And that is why you are an neutered people. A baseball bat is illegal? Are you kidding me? We have the right to own firearms, not just for hunting.
Some interesting points you made:
Your police don't carry guns. So what good are they? Criminals will always be able to get guns. Hell, in your country they're converting BB guns to shoot .22cal bullets. So your cops are completely defenseless...much less your citizens.
You have a major problem with knife crime. That right there should be a light bulb. Why do you have that problem? They've banned guns. The point is, banning guns doesn't solve the crime problem, criminals just move to the next best thing, knives.
If someone breaks in my house and is armed, I shoot them. Guess what, I live there, its my stuff, and they broke in with at the very least, the intent to rob me. The fact that I was home, means they A. didn't care or B. intended to do me bodily harm in the process of stealing my possessions. In the UK, you no longer have the right to defend yourself. Your criminals have more rights than your law abiding citizens do. How can you as a people live with that?
Note: this isn't a comment on you personally, but your leaders, media, etc that have lulled your people into a state of false utopia where they easily stripped rights and common sense away. Though this has been going on for decades, since before WW2. The US had to send England weapons to arm its people during WW2, that should tell you something.
