Default Cracked Exhaust Manifold

I'm currently going to school to become a mechanic and my teacher yesterday mentioned that the exhaust manifolds on the 4.0 six tend to crack fairly often. I'm just wondering if other tj, xj, zj owners have had this problem and if I should look into getting a header for my tj.

Yup, yj and tj. Usually from getting it nice and hot, then hitting the water.

I think mine be cracked already. Not bad, but the begining of something worse I forse. How hard are they to replace? The last two vehicles i've done it on were GIANT pains in the arse.

I replaced the cracked header on my 98 TJ with Banks. Quility product, good thick flange and no more leaks...

sweet, thanks for the review on the banks, i've always wanted an excuse to order a banks product

as far as how difficult it'd be, i cant imagine it'd be too bad, theres quite a bit of room in there

Took about 2 hours to replace, pretty straight forward. Hardest part is cleaning the gasket off the head.
