I knew I wasn't alone. Took the doors off and the top down just to drive up to McDonalds to grab a burger, smiling the whole way and waving to anything with vertically-slotted grille and round headlights...

Yup...I'm right there with you. And honestly, I avoided getting a Jeep for many years because A) Chrysler was crap and I couldn't get that outta' my head. And B) the hp on the Wrangler was just so uninviting and I couldn't bare to drive slow. Ended up going through 3 Nissan Xterras instead. And now none of the Xterras are around, although, they were honestly great vehicles. I traded in a 2008 VW R32 for my JKUR and I've never looked back. I do miss my car at times, but I can't help but feel like everything is right in the universe when I'm driving my JK. So much so that I bought another Jeep ('14 GC) for a daily driver. Not quite the same, but still a Jeep through & through.

Haha same sentiments here. Had beautiful new 2012 Toyota Tacoma but my hubby knew there was something missing. He suggested we look at a Jeep again. Out w truck in comes our 5th Wrangler. Im still smiling every time I climb in it!

Default Loved reading this - I feel the same.

I am a new Jeep owner. Or should I say I have a new obsession, and it's my Jeep. I've only had it for a couple of months. I had no idea what I was getting into. I wish I had done a little more research before buying it so I would have been prepared for the addiction, but then again, I wouldn't have wanted my wife to find out. :-)

I've owned roughly 15 cars in my life. But the JK has been different. Especially when I put the new wheels and tires on it. When we have to go somewhere and we choose to take my wife's car, I can't help but wish we were taking the JK. I'll look at it as we pull away and my wife will mutter, "Aren't you going to say it?" to which I laughingly respond, "Damn, that's a nice looking Jeep!"

The best part of this short adventure has been my wife expressing her want for a white 4 door!

Yup....it's always nice when the wife is completely on-board with the Jeep addiction. My wife was more excited about getting mine lifted, etc. than I was I think.

Of course now she thinks we should consider selling it because it's no longer a daily driver and would save a considerable amount of money on payments each month. Blasphemy!!!

I totally get where you're coming from. I've been driving nothing but Wrangler's for 20 years now, and I still smile and feel happy every time I climb inside mine.
