I know I'm not the only one...
Love this thread!
During the last recession we downsized from two vehicles to one and in that process I traded my 2007 JKU Sahara for a new Honda Accord. The Honda was super quiet, had excellent gas mileage, rode smooth as a baby's butt, and didn't give me a lick of trouble. And I hated it. I tried doing the "Honda wave" but it didn't catch on. It wasn't a terrible driving experience, but it also wasn't something that made me happy. It was simply a tool to get from point a to point b. I had no joy driving it.
About a year ago it was time to add a second vehicle. My wife picked out a Honda CRV. She loves it. But it's not my thing. I had been thinking about trading the Honda Accord in for another Jeep since the day we purchased it. My wife finally convinced me to pull the trigger.
About a month ago I traded it for a 14 JKU Rubi. I LOVE IT! I can once again totally relate to the "joy" of driving. It actually makes my happy to get in it and go somewhere. It doesn't matter where. Anywhere. I look for excuses to run errands in the Jeep. The words "Will you run to the..." is music to my ears. And I have my Jeep wave back! The wrong has been righted. The stars are once again aligned. All is good.
It's an added bonus to have the coolest vehicle in the lot when I pick my kids up from school. It's awsome to have my daughters friends fighting over who gets to go with her four wheeling this weekend.
Yes, it's a Jeep thing, and we all understand.

Sending !BIG FL WAVE! using JK-Forum
I had to take my wife's GMC Acadia Denali for a couple days last week because I needed the extra space to haul around one of my big RC planes. It felt like the strangest experience I've ever felt - like I was driving a living room sofa. Was it comfortable? Yep (cooled leather seats). Was it gadgety? Yep (heads-up display on the windshield and all the cool tech toys). Funny thing is I felt completely out of place driving it, and opened every window and sunroof in the thing just to try to get some air going around me. Needless to say, I was more than glad to get my Jeep back, and when I got it back, I took it for a brief cruise around town with the top down and doors off just to rid myself of any lingering weirdness...
It's definitely a Jeep thing.

Yes Its a JEEP thing
I have had 3 Jeeps in my life regreated selling the first one to go to a car. Was never happy, every time I saw a jeep I would smile and wish I had one so I got my 2nd Jeep and all was right again I smiled every time I saw it drove it or just looked at it. Then out came the CRUSH and I just had to have the Orange jeep So she was my first brand new JEEP or car in like 20 yrs it was love. Now I smile all the time. JEEP = happiness
love my Jeep

Well said. I've owned dozens of vehicles, 8 of which were mustangs from a 69 mach I to a Shelby gt and I'm on my 4th jeep. YJ, XJ, TJ, and now JK.
I love the wrangler so much that after I got my TJ, my BMW convertible stayed in the garage to the tune of only being driven 1400 miles/yr. Traded both in on the JK.

Completely agree. This is my fourth vehicle (second Jeep brand vehicle but first Wrangler) and I love it the most!
The community thing is awesome! I was driving across town today with the windows down. As I made a right turn on red I saw a TJ sitting in the other lane with the windows down as well. So I put my hand way out the window for a wave. The guy driving was too busy playing with his phone, while sitting at the red light, to notice me. However, when the girl sitting in the passenger seat saw my wave, she smiled and waved back, and then frogged him in the arm for not paying attention. It was great!

In May 2010 I bought the "new" camaro and I thought that was it, fast, sleek, cool..... After a month of driving it, I gotta say it just didnt feel right and boy was my wife pissed!! I kept seeing Jeeps and I was so drawn to them. I told my wife my thoughts and she thought I was crazy... "A Jeep for a camaro.... Are you nutz!!!" So after some time (Sept. 9th 2011 2:00PM) She took the camaro and I traded in Her accord. The first time I drove my 2011 cosmos blue JKU sport I smiled and never stopped. My wife still thinks I am crazy but I explain to her that it is like finding the right pair of shoes. They just "fit" and that its a Jeep thing.... she is beginning to understand.... Resistance is futile
I will drive this Jeep till I die and if the engine goes out...V8 time!!!

I bought my first one custom ordered it in 2000... LOVED it and the wife hated it. She said it had to go before we had a kid. I have always watched wranglers I by wishing I still had mine. I knew two options I had in my first one that I would change but always dreamed of getting back into one. Fast forward through 2 new trucks, a hummer, and my F250 crew cab diesel, I am finally back in a wrangler. Thanks to the unlimited the family of 5 fits. I was so sure I wanted it and was so in love with it as crazy as it sounds I bought it without even driving this one. I was right I love it and smile every time I drive it. My kids LOVE it and the wife is even ok with it since I was nice enough to buy one she could drive this time. It's an amazing feeling when it's all just right!
7Kings, you are not alone... I had a 93YJ for several years and like an idiot, traded it in (hindsight is 20/20)... it was several years later that I ended up borrowing my father-in-law's CJ and immediately realized what I'd been missing. Over the course of the weekend I found I was looking for excuses to take out the little CJ, in the cold with no top, buck-board springs and pittance of brakes - oh what fun! Upon return to CO, I saved up a few pennies and brought home an 07JK.
It's not fast, not super-comfortable (although the extra cushion of the seat covers helps) and doesn't exactly get the world's best MPG. But it has something else, something intrinsic that sets it apart from other vehicles. I may not keep the JK forever, but I think it's safe to say I'll have a Jeep in the garage.
Happy Jeepin' everyone!
