I ordered the mount and 2 quick disconnects(3/4)...one for my existing CB ball mount and one for the new antenna. I'll be placing the CB antenna on one and a scanner antenna on the other. Those low ceilings in the parking garage require removing the antenna's when I park in Houston.

BUT, I ordered them this weekend and have my pay-pal confirmation, but no confirmation from cool tech. That makes me nervous, but I am getting used to that with the smaller vendors. I had parts delivered from one place before I received their confirmation it had shipped.

Here's hoping they ship the parts sometime this week!

When ordering through the Cool Tech website do you accept credit cards or do you have to have a PayPal account

In your case, we must have messed up something with your email or your email provider didn't like the .pdf invoice we attached. Anyway, it bounced. So, sorry for that. Now that I know your ID here, I can & will PM you the shipping info as well as the bounced response we got for reference. (It shipped first thing Monday after your order on the weekend.)

Kendall, thanks for the update (and the followup email). As I said, with small vendors you never know. With large vendors, it still is, sometimes you never know.

Anyway, the PayPal email address goes to an earthlink host, and earthlink has marked your host as a SPAM host. Bummer. It didn't even show up in my suspect email folder, it was totally blocked by earthlink. My earthlink address is almost totally spam free. That address is also almost totally email free. Now we know why. So if anybody else is waiting of a shipping confirmation....check your spam filters!

And no apologies necessary, that's the vagarities of electrons....sometimes they get where they are going and sometimes they're lightning (flash/bang and they're ozone...or something). I should apologize to you, I am not exactly the patient sort when it comes to my Credit Card and ordering over the internet. I watch that sucker online like a hawk because paranoia tells me that someday its a gonna get stolen. (Hasn't yet thank God). And when I place an order and three days later...silence, my paranoia kicks into high gear. So thanks for the followup....I'll sleep better tonight....unless something else bugs me

Also when I worked in Customer Service, the internal joke (NEVER, EVER, to get out) was if it wasn't for those pesky customers interrupting us, we could all get some real work done. Making reports. Filing paper. Attending more meetings. Going to human resource seminars. You know, important stuff.

So, pictures to follow when the material arrives!

Get a building and some employees if you really want some rediculous bills! Workers comp, liability insurance, etc., etc. Oops, sorry for the rant...

I'm sure I'll forget to turn the CB off sometimes. If its connected directly to the battery I'll run the risk of a dead battery and a long walk. Is there a way to connect direct to batttery but have it still shut off when the ignition is off? Is there a noticable performance drop if connected to a switched power source like the driver side powerport.

I'm going to install a Cobra 75 wxst and the manual says to connect direct to battery so I'll likely go that way but any idea how much power it draws or how long it would take to kill the battery?

Default 12v relay

"Is there a way to connect direct to batttery but have it still shut off when the ignition is off?"

Yes you can add a 12v relay.

Wire to a switched power source, which will control the 12v power through the relay to the CB.

I think I will wire to the battery and try to remember to turn off the radio:toung:

Any tips or advice on mounting?

Additional grounding, weatherproofing, sealing, etc?

Default Good idea!

This kit looks very good and easy to do. I think I'll order one as well.
