Now correct me if im wrong but on top of a tire carrier near the top of the jeep with a 5 foot firestick should yeild decent results due to it being a coil and also it being further away from the body of the vehicle. Or would it yeild simular results to the light bar mount used in your tests?
So what are your honest opinions of my setup?

The left antenna is a 2m/70cm ham antenna and the right one is for a handheld cb. The steel plate is 17" wide and the antennas are at least 12" apart.
I went with magnetic antennas for ease of swapping them between large ones for trails and travelling and short ones for everyday use that fit in the garage.
SWR meter reading are 1.2 and 1.3.
I ran the two coax cables through the tailgate (left an 8in loop at the hinge inside for flexing) out through a grommet behind the spare to a QD connector. This way I can open the tailgate, reach down in the spare tire and unscrew the connector, swap antennas, or leave them off.
Trail performance has just fine. I love having them back there out of the way of branches. I also like the height.
Honestly the only time I use the CB is with other Jeeps on the trails. I don't know anyone else that even owns them.
My mobile ham radio I use more often and haven't had issues with it. I can run simplex with others or hit the local repeaters with no problem.
Thanks for any constructive criticism!

i went with a nice simple set up. a diamond sg7500 mounted on the diamond k400c on the tail gate. the thin cable fits nicely between the gasket and tail gate with no pinching and required no holes to slip through.
mounted an icom 2200h in the center console . built a little fan to sit on the console top and help with the heat.
swr is 1:1.5 with no effort at all.
