Hitch mounting would be convenient but it will raise your ground losses. You need the ground plane under the antenna. That might actually make things worse; weaker transmit, weaker & noisier receive.

FYI I have ferrite beads on each ignition wire to help cut the noise on my 08

#31 beads

Yes.....when he's moving down the road that could be true. But I think he mentioned being parked or contesting, which should be fine. He could even run a few radials off it when he is stationary. I think it's a great idea. Heck....by the looks of it, he could probably even mount a full size Hustler to that thing....

It may cost a bit more but I always buy my beads from dxengineering.com. High quality and the right mix (31). If you get the wrong mix it won't help with HF freqs. I believe the .525 are right for ignition wire.

It's gonna be getting a tarheel 2 come tax time. Gonna mount a fixture to put up my 48 ft of army surplus pole on it with my center fed wire dipole I'm making.
