my Cobra 75wxst Install
I got the Cobra 75 kit with a Firestik antenna and cable from Northridge as a Chistmass present and thought I would share my installation. It has taken some time as I fabricatted my own parts as you will see.
These first picks are my test fit for my stainless steel mic hanger/ beauty rings. I used 0.120" thick stainless plate for these. Strong enough to never bend, the SS will hold up to time without rusting, and adding to both sides just looks good to trim up the handle and keeps the handle from being twisted up.

These pics are the test fitting of my antenna mounting plate. I wanted a large mass so I used 0.188 plate for the bracket. I also wanted to raise the base of the antenna above the rim and tailgate so that they would not create any directional interference issues that is common with most tailgate mounts.
For the CB itself, I wanted a hidden install that almost look factory. Barrowing an idea found on JKF I decided to mount the brain box behind the AC controls with the mic connector sticking out what was once the purse hook.

I especially like the mike holder. I did my cell phone mount in the same place.

Black-Shadow, to answer your PM the below photo is of my template I used for the handle profile. It is about 3-1/8" long and 2-3/8" high, then an additional 2" long tab that I bent about 90°. The center was made with 2 punches, a 1-1/4" and a 3/4" punch. It took a couple templates to get the center to fit just right and then the outside was a simple trace.
