Did a quick install on mine getting ready for a big trail run. Was going to move it afterwards to above the rear view mirror but I like it just fine where it is.

I'll have to get some pics for this...

I cut out a hole in the front of the glove box, just under the lock. The cb fit snugly into the bottom, with just the face-plate sticking out (with controls, etc.) and the wiring out the back of the glove box, down the passenger side floor (under the carpet) and to the rear trunk, where the antenna is mounted on my Or-Fab tire carrier. I then took black caulk and added a thin bead around the face to make it look pretty. Works well... it's out of the way. I was able to use the mounting bracket too, screwed to the bottom of the glove box, so that I can still attach it so there's no rattle.

Just did a rough install.......(not finished, but you get the idea)

Need to dress up the rough opening around the unit.

Gonna install the antenna on my new OR-Fab rear tire carrier/ rack.

I used the teraflex antenna mount on the tail gate, seems to be a pretty good location I get a 1:1.3 SWR

A note for where I mounted my CB, looks like I have to move it, apparently 2011+ JKs have knee air bags?

I've mounted my CB over the driver's door with 2 brackets that I've made from a piece of metal (from Lowe's $3) I'll try to get some pics later

Default mount idea

Nice ride and really nice mounting idea, what remote mount did you use for the FT-8800r? I have an IC7000 that I am thinking of mounting the same way so I can manipulate the controls and see the screen while still watching the road.

Posted this in response to the ham mount thread, thought it should go here too.

Going to use the Arizona Rocky Roads rear tire carrier mounts for the antennas and also the hood lip mount for the ham antenna and try out both ham antenna locations and see which one works out best.

-Still looking for a good place to mount a CB on a 2012 JK. I really don't like putting it overhead. I was thinking more like a Cobra19DX or Uniden 520XL on the side of the center console.
