Additional interior LED lights
Here you go. As you can see, the dash and the seats are illuminated by the 2 bolt LEDs; something your dome light won't do

I am wanting to install some LED's under the dash on the driver and passenger side in my Jeep that have a few different power sources.
My sources are:
*I want to have a switch that I can turn on and off that will turn on both sides on the LED's.
*I want to have both sides hooked up to the dome lights so that they will come on every time the dome light comes on. (yellow with white tracer wire)
*I want to have each side connected to the light that is turned on when the dome light switch is turned on for an individual side. So if the passenger turns on their dome light, the led's on the passenger side will only turn on and not the driver side.
From what I've read I might need a diode to stop the current from turning on all the lights when one power is turned on. And I guess you have to use a resistor with the diode? I thought it would be fairly simple to install but I and thinking this might be a lot more complicated.
I am installing about 14 individual blue LED's on each side.
It seems like the Yellow with white tracer is the wire that I want to tap into for the dome light to light up both sides at the same time but I really want to have it were I can only have one side at a time light up.
Thanks for any help on how to install these light. I am planning on hooking them up in parallel.

But, if you also want a stand-alone switch elsewhere, then I suspect it gets more complicated (diodes, etc.), and somebody else should answer that question.
Yeah, I'm wanting to also have a switch that I can turn on all the leds on both sides and not the domes lights. When the passenger turns on their side of the dome light, I want only the LED's on the passenger side to trun on. And the same for the driver side.
I know that if I wire them all up to each of the sources with out anything extra, I will get back voltage that will turn on all of the LED's on each side and the dome lights. So I am trying to figure out how to keep the power sources separate. I saw something in a fourm about relays... I don't know how they work. Do they limit the back feed of voltage?

My Wife Mod complained about how dark it was in the jeep at night when you opened the doors and got in. She said she could not see any thing with the stock over head cabin light. My answer was to install day time driving lights. Cost is about 11 dollars for the led light strips off eBay, I solder the wires to the stock over head lights. The result was Wife Mod freaked out said the international space station could see the Jeep when the doors were open. So to again please the Wife Mod, I installed a small rocker switch on the front of the sound bar to control the front led light. I leave it in to off position and only when I need to see real well in the front seat area do I switch it on. Only The rear led light comes on when you open the doors or turn on the over head light with the column light control or you can just push the left light switch on the stock over head light and it will come on. Best mod yet.

A led strip added to both front footwells.
1. Both strips on with dome lights.
2. Both strips on with switch, no dome lights.
3. Individual strip on with individual dome for that side, driver or passenger.
Is this correct? Or do you want individual switches for each strip? If you want individual switches for each side then I think all you need is (2) 3 position switches. Something like this.
1 switch for both will involve multiple relays (probably 2 per side for a total of four) or two diodes.

I still have not compleeted this. With the last image woth the two diodes, there is a solid red line between the two leds which would mean that if one was on then they would both be on right? i wasnt the switch to turn them all on at once. Bit then when someone turns on the left dome light then only the left side turns on. Thanks for your help!

I'm at work so probably won't finish it until tonight or tomorrow.
Edit: Also, when you decide which way you want to go let me know. I would like to bench test the design before you do the install.
FIFY.
