So that you can see maps of the US?

For your situation, I'd go with whichever you can find cheaper.
BUT you will need to make sure it's a HIGH SPEED BUS version.

Be very careful what mygigs you get off ebay.
They are not all the same, and for the price you are quoting, it sounds like a lo-speed can bus unit which will not work in a JK.

again
not everyone needs maps
If someone has a tomtom or a garmin already, that is EASIER to update maps, why would they HAVE to have a navi mygig?

not everyone wants what you want

Here is my fiasco with it last year:
https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-electrical-lighting-sound-systems-13/can-bus-res-ren-18098/

and from my own head:
2007+ wranglers use a high speed can-bus (the communications system for all the jeeps electro-shiz)
The 2007+ dodge nitro/sebring and others use a low speed can-bus.

There are MyGig units produced for all the chrysler vehicles, some hi-speed, some low-speed.

A low-speed mygig will not work in a vehicle with a hi-speed can-bus.

They all look alike, but can be differentiated based on the part numbers.
5064080AG and 5064400AH may be compatible with the JK.

In the ebay auctions, they will usually give a list of the automobiles that the mygig is compatible with.

If you find a mygig that works in the JK for less than $700, you've probably found a deal.

The one I got for my 07 is a 5064080A one. Plug and Play.

Wow.
I agreed with you especially given the "Tokyo" location.
And was just pointing out that given other posts in here, you might be able to find a high speed with nav version cheaper. And if that's the case I'd get that one.
Just don't push the nav button.

Anyway, as long as it's a high speed can bus unit, it will work.

I believe the difference, is that you just aren't going to find a nav mygig for the price you did. You got the deal of a lifetime on a mygig with nav, and I would bet that getting one at that price would be odds close to winning the lottery.

I can't find anything on ebay for less than $399, no nav system. They are high speed though.
