Cabin Air Temperature Sensor Location?
My auto a/c still works ok. Definitely better than my manual one. Worst case for me is I just adjust the temp and the fans and vents adjust themselves. Also it works perfect in manual mode.
Even if I can't get this sensor to work, I am still happy with the current functionality. Plus o was able to sell my manual control for about 50 bucks, so It was a low cost risk.

Any insight on wiring this would be helpful. I hope the entire instrument panel harness doesn't have to be replaced. They are crazy $$$$$

My 11 also does not have the sensor or wiring harness behind the panel under the steering wheel! I do have the auto lights, ambient air temp . I wonder if all that is now require is that interior sensor and where good to go. I searched the web last night for a schematic showing the wiring and sensors but could not find anything. We need a maintenance manual or someone with the ATC to take a look and snap som shots for us.
I've asked the person who I sold my old manual controls to take a pic of the sensor wiring when he is installing the manual controls.
Hopefully we can at least get the colors of the wires. Hoping splicing won't be necessary.

I've just done this as well. Like mattro posted, it will work minus the additional sensors. After seeing it in action for a while what seems to be happening is that there is a simple comparison being done between the ambient temp, and the temp setting on the unit itself...the greater the difference, the more cooling/heating done in the vehicle.
I'm guessing the additional sensors act like short term overrides for the ambient temperature.
Got the part cheap from the U.S., but forgot that the temperature is shown in Fahrenheit and not Celsius...no big deal really.
