Factory radio cuts out, help!

My stock CD/AM/FM receiver did the same cutting out only on songs I liked. I disconnected the TIPM several times which only changed the frequency of cutting out. I thought why put more time and money into a out of date radio. I replaced it with Pioneer AVH-2550 with which I'm very pleased. I'd recommend considering the same path.
