Wow. Seems like a pretty simple thing to be problematic.

Actually, the problem is remedied by wrapping the connection between the H13/H4 connectors with electrical tape. I had to do this on my gf's JK. No problems since day one.

Is the problem looseness of the connection or moisture getting in?

IPF conversion installed on my jeep since the first order - two winters ago? No problems. Yes I have them wrapped in electrical tape and also used the dielectric paste stuff. No big deal. Enormous difference over the stock lights.

So how did it all work out ?

What all parts did you use ?

Who else has swapped headlight housings ? Where did you buy them from ?

Did you upgrade from H13 --> H4 ?

Did you upgrade the harness ?

Default Adapters or Complete Harness?

I personally run Hella E-Codes and ran them with a harness and IPF Fatboy X4 bulbs. Those were BRIGHT and had excellent pattern. Now I run HIDs in the Hellas and the light is brighter, but the beam pattern is not as good.

The Delta lights are the ones that you want to avoid. I tried a set of those and did not like them at all!

My consensus.... the IPFs have a sharper light pattern and more spread than the Hellas on low beam. Hellas have more focused light in the front of the Jeep but has an annoying "blank" spot in the middle of the road.

High beam - the IPFs shine like a flashlight with a nice narrow high beam pattern. The hellas are a wide high beam pattern.

If you use high beam, go with the IPFs. If you use low beam a lot, go with Hellas.

EDIT: There is a "DOT" stamp on the IPFs on my girl's jeep and a "DOT" on my Hella lens as well.
By harness, did you mean the complete new wiring harness, or the bulb adapters? I assume you can use them both ways, but they'd probably be brighter with the complete harness system, like rallylights.com sells. I'm tired of the dim stock lights. It's not so bad in town, but in the country, the stock lights suck. We've got too many deer in Mississippi for dim headlights!

Alright, if found 7" Cibies sold by Amazon for $41.78 each, KC adapters for $19.71 for a pair, and Hella H4 60/55 for $7.69 each, & got free shipping. Going to try that set up.

Left side is Cibie 7", #082440, with Hella H4 60/55 W. Right side is stock lamp. I used a KC HiLites H13 to H4 conversion jumper, part #6307 & coated all connections with di-electric grease.
