The Rubicon/Little Sluice Challenge Ultimate Junk-Yard Build
Yeah, I'm looking forward to that video too - thanks. I have a person asking for the AEV wheels already, but if that falls through, I will let you know. The rims are in good shape. The beadlock rings work great but they are pretty beat up from all the rocks we do out here.
Yeah, me too! I feel a little like a kid in a candy store, but since I got through my forties without a mid-life crisis, I think I might deserve this (at least a little bit). Besides, the best part about all this Jeep building stuff, is that I get to spend more time with my son, and our mutual hobby!
I sure will.
I sure will.
So I asked Jim tonight how we are doing and he advised, "We are Close!" The Jeep is still at the exhaust place, but Jim is heading over there early tomorrow to get the custom exhaust dialed in, and then get the Jeep back to the Higher Ground shop for a few things to finish in the engine compartment. I expect to get a call around lunch time to get my butt over there to hear the Hemi fired up for the first time! Yeah, I'm just a little bit excited...
I asked Jim how he was doing and his only reply was that he texted me a picture of this poster that he's got hanging on one of his walls (I like it!):

Much respect and thanks to Jim Cox, Jen, Daniel, and the whole crew from Higher Ground 4x4 for my 6.1 Hemi install. First startup video link is here: http://youtu.be/NcEYlTLIbJE
Vince and I immediately took it on a 400 mile road trip to Vegas (in route to Moab) - this was the first time I have actually enjoyed my Jeep on the freeway. Set the cruise control at 75 mph, went up some steep grades, it never dropped down in gear, it never dropped out of cruise control, and the highest rpm I saw was 2100!
I no longer fear passing semis on the freeway - I think I now actually own the freeway.
Jim - thank you!!
