I blame the driver. Simple user error. Good thing he had awesome friends.

There is a portion of that trail that would be difficult but not impossible for a stock rubi.

And this shows you that a 60k jeep doesn't mean you wont get stuck.

Like everything else in life, off reading does take a little practice and education- things that money really can't buy. You just can't watch YouTube videos and say, 'I'm going to do that!

I'm pretty new to the jeep world but been off roading now for several years. I bought my 2012 JKU rubi with the sole purpose of recreating and using it to its full potential so I knew scratches were going to happen. My wifes dad owns a body shop and she was raised on not scratching vehicles so the first time I took her off road and had her drive, trying to convince her to take a bush rather than a rock or drop off was difficult but she is used to it now. I also don't have a winch for self recovery but I do carry a strap and have hooks and d-rings for some to help me out. I use common sense, if there is potential to get stuck where I will need to winch out I'm not gonna do it. Now if I can get help if I do get stuck I may try the obsticle. Knowing your personal, vehicle, and equipment's limits and capabilities along with common sense will take you a long way.
