Have to love the commentary on this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQ6Z29wHGLw
I think my commentary would be more like "OMFG OMFG OMFG (repeat the entire time that the hood is underwater and the water is up to the windshield)".

I went camping a month after I bought my 07 2door. It rained that night and the small creek I crossed was a river the next morning. It was the only way out as well. I waded out up to mid thigh and got back in the jeep. I took 10 mins to think about it and just put it in gear and tried to cross. Right about the middle the water came over the hood. I just punched the gas and a few seconds later my jk was climbing the slick bank on the other side. I was about 5 feet down from where I was aiming. (The water pushed me). I let it sit and run for about 10 mins while I thought about what had just happened. My jeep never even sputtered and recieved no damage. I'm guessing a few seconds more would of be bad. I now own a 09 unlimited and I check the weather.
Be careful what you cross.

A little deep...
It didn't look this deep when the two guys before me went through it, maybe it was their 37's... Anyway, the water went over the hood , about a foot up, for a few seconds and had me seriously rethinking my decision, but I kept on the gas and it came out pretty quick. I've been considering a snorkel lately...

I've never done a River Crossing before, but I'd imagine once you get to the point where it's anywhere near your hood level, it's probably too late to rethink!
