Diesel all the way...Ive chipped mine and im pushin 220HP and 510 torque...

what is 510 Nm of torque as opposed to ft lbs of torque? or is it the same and you call it something different?

its 380ft lbs i think (according to an online converter)

The standard 2.8 DOHC 4-cylinder Common-Rail Diesel (CRD) pumps out 175 bhp @ 3800 rpm and 302 lb/ft @ 2000-2600 rpm.

i think the 5 speed auto has a bit more torque

460 Nm = 340 lb ft !

damn, so 220/380 is a huge improvement. nice.

Too bad this thread has deviated from the OP question.

That's very cool and I'm envious of the overseas JK diesels but theres nothing in this thread useful to actually converting/swapping the motor.

The most useful thing was the reference to flea bay for a salvaged liberty motor which is evidently around the $2k mark.
